I am who YOU say I am

Friends,
Because I know that there is someone out there that needs to hear this today.. here it goes.
I attended the Inspire Women’s Conference 2020 again this year and it was so inspiring to me (see what I did there? Inspiring LOL). So I’ll jump into the meat of what I am taking away from it.
I hope I will get to share more with you but for now, here is one of my takeaways.
The first speaker was talking about all the labels that other people and sometimes even we, ourselves put on us. (Thin, Fat, Pretty, Ugly, Curvy, Nice, Shy, Vocal, Loud, Mean, Too Outspoken, unable to have children, endometriosis, black, white, depressed, PTSD, ADD, ADHD, etc.) Even though they may not be true, we hear them like a trumpet in our ears. At some point, we sometimes even begin to believe them. I did! I really did believe some of the nasty things people have said about me. One recently cut me to the bone, and I doubted who I was for a while. Why was I going through this, what had I done to deserve this? Doubting myself, my existence, my talents, my place, just everything.
Today, through prayer, wise counsel and the reiteration of this conference, I understand who I am, I am FREE! Those labels, loads, worries, they aren’t mine anymore, I unzip my HUGE imaginary designer suitcase and stuff those labels, the grief, the worry, the self-doubt, the “not good enough”, the bitterness that come with it, the “self-hating” all of it.. and I place that suitcase on the floor and sit on it to zip it up and then I pray…
“Lord, it’s me, I have a “present” for you, but it’s sort of ugly! I know you get my humor, but sometimes it’s the only way I can get through my day, it’s just to laugh because I know that all this “stuff” that’s in this suitcase, it’s not for me, it’s too heavy and I can’t carry it anymore. So, Lord, I need your help, I need to give this to you. I leave it here at the foot of the Cross. Thank you, Lord for taking this weight off of me. Amen”
Then I envision that the Lord it literally holding all my weight and worry with His pinkie finger, I recall how it was weighing me down and how easy it was for Him to just take care of it all.
When it comes to the labels, you are who God says you are, NOT what others say you are.
You are:
YOU ARE LOVED – John 3:16
YOU ARE KNOWN – Psalm 139:14, 1 Sam 16:7
YOU ARE HIS – 1 John 3:1, 1 Peter 2:9, John 1:12
YOU ARE A MASTERPIECE – Eph 2:10
YOU HAVE A PURPOSE – Jeremiah 29:11
YOU ARE CALLED – 2 Peter 1:3
YOU ARE CHOSEN – Rev 17:14
YOU ARE VICTORIOUS – 1 Corinthians 15:57
YOU HAVE A GLORIOUS FUTURE – Romans 8:18
WE ARE ALIVE WITH CHRIST- Eph 2:4-5
REDEEMED – Romans 3:24
A TEMPLE – 1 Cor 6:19
WONDERFULLY MADE – Psalm 139:14
Rest in this sweet friend. People will let you down, people will sometimes hurt you, but rest in His promises and know that God is fighting for you and you never need to say a word.. Trust Him friend, trust HIM.
